Brawl in Hammonton, NJ Could Mean Jail Time for Offenders

In New Jersey, aggravated assault is serious business. If you use a weapon, the stakes are even higher. In fact, N.J.S.A. 2C:12-1(b) stipulates that anyone involved in a fight where a weapon is used (even if they aren’t the main fighter) could face up to 10 years in NJ State Prison.

A case in Hammonton, NJ is a great example of how misunderstandings can end in lengthy prison sentences. According to authorities, at least 10 people involved in the brawl could face prison time if charged and convicted. However, no arrests have been made at this time.
